How to Track GST Return Status Online?
Tracking the status of your
Goods and Services Tax (GST) returns is an important aspect of ensuring
compliance and staying updated with your tax obligations. The Government of
India has provided a user-friendly online portal called the GST Common Portal,
where taxpayers can conveniently track the status of their GST return filings.
Here are seven steps to help you track your GST return status online:
Visit the GST Common Portal:
Begin by accessing the
official GST Common Portal by entering the URL https://www.tradeapprovals.com/ in your
web browser. This portal serves as a one-stop platform for all GST-related
activities.
Log in to your account:
Once you reach the GST
Common Portal's homepage, click on the "Login" button located in the
top right corner. Enter your valid credentials, including your GST
identification number (GSTIN), username, and password, to log in to your
account.
Navigate to the Returns Dashboard: After logging in, you will be redirected to the GST dashboard. From the main menu, click on "Services" and select "Returns" from the dropdown menu. Then, choose "Returns Dashboard" to proceed to the next step.
Select the Return Filing Period: On the Returns Dashboard, select the appropriate
financial year and the return filing period for which you want to track the
status. Once selected, click on the "Search" button to proceed.
View Return Status:
The system will display the summary of returns filed for the selected period.
Look for the return you want to track and click on the "Track Status"
button next to it.
Check Status and History: A new page will open, showing the return details and their
status. Here, you can find information such as whether the return is filed,
pending, processed, or if there are any errors. You can also view the filing
history of that particular return.
Take Necessary Action:
Based on the status displayed, you can take appropriate action. If the return
is filed and processed successfully, you can proceed with your other
tax-related activities. In case of any errors or pending actions, take note of
the details provided and follow the necessary steps to rectify or complete the
filing.
