Procedure for Obtaining FSSAI Registration Online

Types of FSSAI License

FSSAI certificate comes in three types, based on the amount of turnover in the company.

FSSAI FoSCos Basic License

A company that has an annual turnover of less than 12 lakh will require an FSSAI basic license.

FSSAI FoSCos State License

FSSAI FoSCos Central License

FSSAI Central licenses are required for businesses with at least 20 million. In addition importers, manufacturers operators within the Central government ports, airports railways, and others require FSSAI Central licenses as well.

The cost of obtaining the licenses mentioned above could vary based on different aspects, but the duration of the licenses lasts for 1-5 years.

·     You must submit the official registration certificate (if you have one) for example, a Certificate of Incorporation for a Company or Trade License Partnership Deed, Firm Registration GST Registration number, etc.

·     If your business's location is a partnership or a private limited company it is required to file documents such as the MoA (Memorandum of Association) as well as the AOA (Article of Association) or Partnership Deed.

·     Submission of the License for trade, Corporation license Municipality License Shop, and Establishment Registration is mandatory (any required).

·     FSSAI declaration form.

Documents For Central FSSAI License

·     In order to prove your identity for identity verification, you must provide an Aadhar card Voter ID card, Passport or Driving License, and so on.

·     It is mandatory to sign the rental contract if your office space is rented.

·     You must present any registration certificate issued by the government such as a Company Incorporation Certificate and Partnership Deed and Firm Registration License, Commercial License, GST Registration Number, or Establishment and Shop Registration.

·     If you run an association firm or a private limited business and you want to file an MoA as well as an AoA and Partnership Deed.

·     A letter of authorization from the company that states the individual concerned has been sanctioned to complete the FSSAI application.

·     If you are a manufacturer, you have to provide the list of food categories that the manufacturer would like to manufacture.

·     For the classification of export and import, IE Code (Import Export Code) is obligatory to submit.
